Shallowater has seen Childress before as they both split their district series before tonight's matchup. Both games were close that hinged on late game clutch plays and three-point shots.
But, for this game it was different for the Fillies, well after the first quarter when Shallowater was down, 17-12. In the second quarter Shallowater, behind the exceptional play from Senior Madilyn Barnes, took the lead at the half 29-24 behind Madilyn's 16 first-half points.
In the third quarter, Barnes started off hot again with five more points to start the quarter for the Fillies who led 37-24 before Childress scored their first bucket in the stanza with 2:15 left in the quarter. The Fillies went on a 19-4 spurt in the second and late third quarter as well!
The fourth quarter saw Avery Terrell get hot for Shallowater as she connected with three-straight three pointers to help lead Shallowater to a huge 53-45 win. The Fillies now advance to the 3A Regional Tournament at Frenship High School in Wolfforth, TX taking place this Friday and Saturday.
