BJ’S OUTSTANDING PLAY DURING 2017-18 LANDS HIM ON THE ALL-806 TEAM

BJ Had a great year on the hardwood for the Tascosa Rebels as he dominated on the inside and also had a great midrange game for Coach Jackson and the #RebelNation. I caught up with BJ and asked him about playing sports all year, along with what he went through this season that will propel him to have a bigger season as a Senior on the court. Check out our interview below!!

JASON PEARSON

1. Coming into your Junior year, what did you work on this season to become a better player on the court?

BJ ANDERSON

My junior year I knew I would have to rebound, play defense and be a scorer on the perimeter for my team.

JASON PEARSON

2. You play for one of the best coaches in the business in Coach Jackson. What has he instilled in you to bring the best out of you?

BJ ANDERSON

CoachJackson has pushed me and made me a better player in practice and challenges me in the game to do what he needs me to do to win the game, but he has made me better and also made me work my tail off for it and didn’t hand it to me.

JASON PEARSON

3. When you guys went through a tough 2-6A district, how did That prepare you guys for the playoffs?

BJ ANDERSON

At the beginning of the year Coach Jackson takes us to Dallas for tournaments preparing us for the playoffs and getting us used to playing those metroplex teams but also we study those teams down there and see what they do and how they play and come up with a defense to stop it.

JASON PEARSON

4. I’m seeing that basketball is all year around! How did you end up on the Gym Time hoops team?

BJ ANDERSON

I ended up on gym time by a coach that coached me when I was younger but he called one day and I went down to OKC to tryout and loved it; it’s very competitive and I enjoy playing with them.

JASON PEARSON

5. What’s the main difference between Summer League and Basketball with your team?

BJ ANDERSON

Summer time I get to work on areas I need to improve and also the high competition playing teams across the U.S. and kids that are highly recruited.

JASON PEARSON

6. As you prepare for your senior year, what are your main areas of interest for you to work on to really thrive next season?

BJ ANDERSON

My main areas are to attack more to the basket and be a huge player for my team in all areas including rebounds and defensively to become a score-stopper.

JASON PEARSON

7. Tascosa has one of the best, if not the best home-court advantage and fan base. How does it feel to play in front of those guys all season?

BJ ANDERSON

It felt amazing! Those people really brought that exciting atmosphere to every home game and the fans really cheer you on as well.

JASON PEARSON

8. Favorite NBA player? And why?

BJ ANDERSON

Demar Derozan because I really love his ability to score the ball, his mid-range is deadly and he attacks so strong and he is a leader on and off the court and is very humble.

JASON PEARSON

9. Best moment of the season?

BJ ANDERSON

When I got All-Tournament Team in Dallas at the Bryan Nelson Tournament.

JASON PEARSON

10. After my senior year I will…. (finish the sentence)

After My Senior Year I will go play college basketball for a school that fits me perfect!

JASON PEARSON

11. What was the best quote Coach Jackson told you that has stuck with you all year?

BJ ANDERSON

When he told us in the locker room “We’re either Luke Warm or Cold. We have to stay warm if we need to get where we want in the season” and it stood with me because I knew I had to play good consistently and not just whenever I feel like.it.
