Pittman’s Antelopes have always been a factor in the playoffs and last year’s team lived up to those expectations set by previous Post squads as the Antelopes made it to the Regional Quarterfinals before losing 24-21 to Abernathy; in what may have been the best game of the year in the 806. So, what happens this season? AJ Reed is off to Eastern New Mexico and AJ Escobedo will be severely missed as a leader for his troops. But, there is some serious talent returning to the fold, beginning with Michael Phergson at tailback, and at linebacker. “Pherg” should be electric this season as he will become the front-man for Post’s run-heavy attack. But, their defense will also be better than last year and Kobe Ammons will lead the charge for the Bold Gold in the backend of their unit. Dealan Reed also will be lethal for the Antelopes this fall. Carson Mason and others will need to step up quickly as Post has three-straight tough road games to open the season at Abernathy, at Tahoka and at Coleman’s Bluecats, who thoroughly defeated Post last year.
